R.H.S.C. NEWSLETTER - December 2007
After some alterations, we are happy to announce that the Rainbow Hearts merchandise is now available to be ordered. You can download the order form directly from the website, www.rainbowhearts.co.uk. Once you have filled it in, either email me your order form (boise@hmfc1874.com), send it to me in the post (3 Telford Place, Edinburgh, EH4 2PS), or hand it to me on the bus. Between the Club and our supplier we will make every effort to make sure that your order arrives no later than 4 - 6 weeks from date of order, and hope to have it back to you considerably before that.
The Federation of Hearts supporters clubs are looking for nominations from member clubs for possible players to be inducted into the Hearts Hall of Fame. The Federation will then take the list of ex-players to the Club, and hopefully these will be the players that will be nominated and then voted into the Hall of Fame.
When considering the players that you would like to see inducted, please have a think about the length of service that the player has given the club, memorable moments etc that made the player worthy of induction into the Heart of Midlothian Hall of Fame. Please also be aware that current players should not be thought of for induction.
Please can you email me with the player that you would like to see on the shortlist no later than January 2nd (Dundee Utd bus) or pass them to me on the Falkirk or Dundee Utd bus.
The Federation is still trying to arrange a meeting with Romanov and has been for some time. There may be a meeting arranged at the start of 2008, so in preparation for any possible meeting, the Federation are asking that each member club consults the membership to see what questions they would like to be asked to Mr Romanov, and the most Common questions will be put forward.
Please can you email me any questions that you would want asked no later than January 2nd (Dundee Utd bus) or pass them to me on the Falkirk or Dundee Utd bus.
If you (or anybody that you know) has booked an event at Tynecastle, please can you double-check that the booking is still confirmed. As you may be aware, the caters have changed at the start of this season and the Federation has become aware of some issues of double bookings or bookings not being transferred from the last catering company.
With the announcement from the club at the end of last week in regards to the re-development of the Main Stand, the Federation are looking for member’s feedback on these questions.
1) Do you support the re-development of the Main Stand?
2) What is the most suitable venue for Hearts to play at during the re-development?
a) Tynecastle (in front of 3 stands)
b) Livingston
c) Dunfermline
d) Easter Road
e) Hampden
Please can I have your views and any other comments no later than 2 nd January (Dundee Utd bus).
It has been brought to the Federations attention that some people or groups who had money in Save our Hearts have still not received their Money back or shares. If you are in this situation please contact me and I will pass the information onto the Federation who will see what can be done to resolve this issue for you.
There are an extremely limited number of Willie Bauld calendars available for sale priced £7. If you would like one, please contact me via email.
Please note that non-members can now book seats on the bus to Hampden. Please phone Lynda, calling at a reasonable time. The remaining seats on the bus will be on a first come first served basis.
The Federation of Hearts supporter’s clubs annual rally will be held in the Gorgie Suite on Sunday 10th February 2008. The event will start at 1pm and finish at 6pm. Prices for this event are £10. If you would like tickets, please email me with your request no later than January 2nd (Dundee Utd bus) or pass them to me on the Falkirk or Dundee Utd bus. The compare, cabaret and master of ceremonies are all rolled into one group and they are called The Mimics. Please also note that no food will be served on the day, but the bar will be open!!
At the annual rally, the Federation will be naming the Player of the Year. Please can you email me your votes of your players of the year (please note that this is for the calendar year, not football season year). I need your votes 1st placed, 2nd placed and 3rd placed no later than 2nd January (Dundee Utd bus) or pass them to me on the Falkirk or Dundee Utd bus. The committee will then collate all the votes and come up with the Rainbow Hearts 1, 2, 3, which will be passed onto the Federation, and the result will be announced and trophy presented at the annual rally on February 10th 2008.
The raffle tickets that we are currently selling are to help raise money for the Federation of Hearts supporters clubs. The money that is raised is used to allow the Federation to invite 2 guests (normally ex-players) and 2 members of a supporters club to attend a game at Tynecastle with full hospitality. As there are more supporters clubs than home games, that does not mean the Rainbow will be at a game in any particular season, but we have the same chance as any supporters club until all clubs have had a shot. As nobody knows which club will come out of the hat next, the committee would like to ask members to nominate the 2 people they would like the Rainbow Hearts to offer this to as and when we come out of the hat, whether that be next week, next season or next year!!! Please can I have your list of nominees by, yes you have guessed it! January 2nd (Dundee Utd bus!!)
There are still raffle tickets left to be sold, so if you can sell them, please contact me.
While the committee will make every effort to ensure that the website is always up to date, members need to be aware that we are all volunteers and the way that the SFA, SPL, SFL and the rest of the football world treat fans (in particular Heart of Midlothian!) we cannot always guarantee the site is 100% correct with bus times and dates of games. While the club will do its utmost best to ensure it is updated we can not be sure when the ruling bodies may change something so please be careful to double check if needs be of any changes as you are likely to find out as quickly as we do.
Please note fixture change for the Edinburgh derby. The game will still take place on Saturday 19th January but now at 12.30pm for live Setanta Sports coverage.
We are also looking for any pictures anybody has taken at games, or of club members. We are also interested in any member that would like to write an 'article' for the website which can be anything as long as it includes Rainbow Hearts, Hearts or even if you feel that the rest of the members should know about (Including more story's about the Gasman!!!!) If you have anything for inclusion, please email me.
Finally on behalf of all the Committee, we would like to wish all members and your families a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Yours in sport
Boise Allan
